Shred Spotlight - Jones Outerwear

Our neighbors over at Jones introduced a bomb proof outerwear line last year and have included a ladies line this season with the same high performing technical designs from the men’s collection. Jones is known for their focus on sustainable production, so naturally they extended this ethos to the outerwear collection and managed to construct high-quality pieces while using environmentally and ethically sustainable supply chain partners. Check out the brand’s Outerwear Ethos and take note of one of the most impressive lists of sustainable production certifications in the industry. Bravo, Jones!

Shralpinist vs. MTN Surf:

The outerwear collections segment specific needs for in-bounds and out of bounds travel, as most brands have begun to do these days. Each piece is cross-functional and any type of rider can find something to suite their needs. With highly functional materials, a variety of fits, and classic, muted color ways, we are super impressed with this outerwear line and proud to have it on our racks for another winter. Keep in mind, ladies - the women’s collection is not as large as the men’s, but the jackets, pants, and bibs are of equivalent make & models.

Confused about which line is for you? Here’s the breakdown:

Shralpinist Collection:

The backcountry-oriented line with “Recycled Stretch” ($$) and Gore-Tex ($$$) options. The Stretch is geared towards backcountry and uphill travel, while the Gore-Tex offers up a stiffer, bulletproof build for more extreme alpine conditions.

Our take: bomb-proof, tough, durable, 30k waterproofing, 3L / 4-way stretch fabrics, extreme cold and wind conditions, storm day certified

MTN Surf Collection:

The wear anywhere, anytime resort collection. Freestyle cuts, waterproof, breathable, lightly insulated.

Our take: versatile, 20k waterproofing, breathable, 2L / 4-way stretch, abrasion reinforcements around high-use areas like elbows and knees, pieces made for warm and cold temps but more mild storm conditions
